You can now receive and Animate monthly text. All you need to do to subscribe is email text@animateyouth.co.uk then you can keep up with all Animate’s news if you at home, at work or away studying.

Facebook
animate now has its very own facebook profile. If you want to be a ‘friend’ simply search for ani mate (first name – ani, surname – mate) and send us a friend request. Then you will be kept informed of upcoming events and will be sent group invites to anything new we may set up! Happy social networking everyone!

E:letter
Animate sends out a monthly e:letter to many people across the Archdiocese with information about what has happened in the previous month and what is to come in the next month. It is a great way to keep in touch with what is going on and what you can get involved with. If you would like to be added to our e:letter database then please send an e-mail to admin@animateyouth.co.uk with your name and the words ‘I would like to be added to the monthly e:letter’.

Youth Alive 2012

Youth Alive is raising the roof in St Helens once more. For those who are new to the Animate world, Youth Alive is our monthly Youth Celebration. It gathers together young people age 15+ from around the Archdiocese on the first Sunday of every month (excluding January and August). Numbers have continued to grow throughout the year and it is good to see so many of you in the church and taking part. This year all Youth Alive celebrations will take place at St Mary’s, Lowe House, Crab St, St Helens, WA10 2BE. Mass starts at 6:30pm and is followed by a social in the Life and Soul Café until 10:00pm.

World Youth Day 2013 – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

As you may have heard already, World Youth Day 2013 will be taking place in the carnival city of Rio de Janeiro. Animate are hoping to take a group of between 30 and 40 young people aged 17+. If you are interested in finding out more check out the WYD page.

Animate Volunteers

Each year animate relies on an enthusiastic, creative, energetic and dynamic group of gap year volunteers. Over a year we work with over 9,000 young people on retreat days, mission weeks, weekend retreats, TGI Friday, Youth Alive, Lourdes and much more. If you are interested in joining the animate team as a volunteer for next year please get in touch on 01744 740462. From there you can organise coming to visit animate and find out more about what being a volunteer entails.

Fr Stephen...

has now begun his sabbatical. He will be in South America from Jan to April, then he is back for a few months and during that time he will coordinate the lead up to the 2012 youth pilgrimage to Lourdes. In Sept he will go on a course in San Francisco before returning in December In Jan 2013 will take up a new appointment. We pray for him on his travels after eleven years in youth ministry and setting up the Animate Team. ‘For me this has been a wonderful time, it has been a great privilege to work with thousands of young people and live with about 30 young people at Lowe House. Fr Simon will do a wonderful job and I pray for all the new initiatives that will go on over the next years. A huge thank you to everyone who have supported me, for helping to get off the ground what we know today as ‘Animate’, which was only a few ideas on paper for a number of years.’
