We worked with the Year 7 year group of St Peters, Orrell, looking at the theme of ‘Being One Body’.
The young people were challenged to look at different principles throughout the day, allowing them to recognise what being ‘one body’ really means.
We looked at the sense of belonging, not just belonging within our home community but also belonging in our school community: realising that we need to respect everyone who we encounter day by day.
To put this into action the young people then looked at the meaning of teamwork and were given challenges to complete in different groups to allow them to start living it out.
Lastly, not only does ‘one body’ apply in our daily lives with our school, home or sports team but we have been called by our faith as well to be a part of ‘one body’ with others in the world.
This is the most important calling that God has given us and this then allows us to have the confidence and support to be better people who we have been called to be with our faith guiding us on our journey.
