On 14th and 21st November, the team were invited into St. Edwards Catholic College to work with year 7 in a day of faith exploration.
Throughout the day, the pupils attended 4 workshops. The first was on the Body of Christ, looking at what they can bring to the communities they belong to, but in particular their school community as well as how to work together as a community.
Another workshop was based on the prayer of the Rosary. In this workshop they looked at different reasons why someone may choose to wear and pray the Rosary. The young people also created their own house Rosary banners praying for themselves and for those around them.
There was also a workshop on reconciliation, both in the world and in the form of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This was a chance for the young people to ask questions about the Sacrament and to know that taking part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation is a joyful occasion.
The fourth workshop of the day looked at the Mass and the importance of the Eucharist. In this session, Fr. Simon explained the different parts of the Mass and why we celebrate Mass in the way that we do. The young people even got the chance to try on his stole and chasuble to understand the importance of the different articles that a priest wears whilst celebrating Mass and other Sacraments.
The day ended with all of the groups together in the College Hall for a celebration of Mass.
