On the 25th of June we were joined by year 6 pupils from St Edwards Primary School in Halton. The theme of our day together was “It was then that I carried you”, which is based on a poem called ‘Footprints in the sand’ by Mary Stevenson. We did a number of activities that helped us to explore the theme. These included activities which looked at how we could help the people who we might see in our day to day lives, such as friends or family. We then moved on to think about how we can help and support the people who live a bit further afield and we may not see often, if at all. Finally, we entered a slightly more reflective time where we thought about how God can carry us, finishing with a time of prayer where the young people had a chance to thank God for the help they have received from different people.
It was a pleasure to work with the young people of St Edwards, and we wish them all the best in the future!
